Jakarta, April 15 (IANS) An undersea quake measuring at 5.6 magnitude on the Richter Scale jolted eastern parts of Indonesia earlier on Friday and was not potential for Tsunami, the Met and geophysics agency said here.
The quake jolted at 6.15 a.m., with epicentre at 215 km northeast of Maluku Barat Daya and depth at 134 km under sea bed, Syamsulhadi, official of the agency said.
"The shakes of the quake were weak as the epicenter was located in deep sea," Syamsulhadi told Xinhua by phone.
Indonesia is prone to quake as it lies on a vulnerable quake-hit zone so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire".
