Agartala/Aizawl, April 13 (IANS) A 6.8-magnitude earthquake in the Myanmar-India border region rocked Tripura, Mizoram and adjoining regions, but there was no report of major damage, an official said in Agartala, Tripura.
"There is no report of major damage in Tripura, Mizoram, southern Assam and adjoining areas yet. Only some cracks developed in some buildings in Assam, Manipur and Mizoram adjoining Myanmar," disaster management coordinator Sarat Das told IANS, citing reports from district magistrates across the region.
According to the meteorological department, the quake rocked India's northeastern states and adjoining Myanmar, Bangladesh and Nepal at 7.25 p.m. on Wednesday.
