Kolkata, April 13 (IANS) The full bench of the Election Commission, headed by Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi, will arrive in Kolkata on Thursday to take stock of the election preparedness ahead of the second phase of assembly polls on April 17.
According to additional chief electoral officer Dibyendu Sarkar, the officials would be a holding a meeting with political parties and state level officials on election preparedness.
The visit comes amid a demand by the opposition parties such as the Congress for removal of Chief Electoral Officer Sunil Gupta for allegedly acting at the behest of West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress.
