New Delhi, April 8 (IANS) The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is a role model for other business entities in the county due to its guiding principles, its former managing director E. Sreedharan said on Friday.
"The DMRC, with its unique work culture and continuous adherence to values and ethics in daily functioning, is a role model for other business entities in the country," said Sreedharan, who is popularly known as the 'Metroman', at a day-long workshop titled 'Leading Businesses with Ethics and Integrity - An interactive workshop for business leaders'
Noting the Delhi Metro functioned on the four principles of punctuality, integrity, professional competence and social responsibility, he expressed concern about the falling standards of ethics and values in the business sector and said that the head of a business entity must inculcate ethics, values and integrity in his own functioning so that he emerges as a role model for the employees.
"If a business leader or a bureaucrat adheres to high moral values himself and does not compromise on ethics, nobody can cause any harm to him," said Sreedharan, citing his own experience.
