Kolkata, April 8 (IANS) Election Commission's special observer R.K. Srivastava on Friday expressed satisfaction over the preparations in several West Bengal districts that will go to polls in the forthcoming phases of assembly elections.
Srivastava toured Asansol and Birbhum on Thursday and on Friday met the district administration officials of Murshidabad and proceeded to Nadia and Behrampur.
"Overall, I am satisfied with the election preparation process. It is a routine meeting," he told the media in Murshidabad.
The elections in Bengal are being held in six staggered phases. They began with the first part of the first phase on April 4 and its second part on April 11, while the subsequent phases will be held on April 17, April 21, April 25, April 30 and May 5.
