New Delhi, April 5 (IANS) Leading Japanese electronics major Panasonic elevated its Indian subsidiary's managing director Manish Sharma to its global executive council.
The move marks the first-ever appointment of an Indian as executive officer to the company's top decision-making body while Sharma, 44, has also been promoted to be Panasonic India's president and CEO.
Dominated mostly by senior Japanese executives, the 24-member global executive council shapes the company's plans and paths across the world.
Shigeto Yuasa will succeed Sharma as managing director.
