New Delhi, April 5 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called upon officer trainees of the Indian Foreign Service to develop deep understanding of the country of their posting and work towards linking Indian states with the outside world in the spirit of cooperative federalism.
Modi interacted with 64 officer trainees of the 2014 and 2015 batches of the IFS.
"Sharing his thoughts, the prime minister encouraged the young officers to work towards fostering closer relations between India and the outside world, develop deeper understanding of the country of their posting, link the Indian states with the outside world in the spirit of cooperative federalism," said an official release.
Modi also called upon the officers to work towards promoting greater people-to-people contacts and strengthening trade ties.
