New Delhi, April 1 (IANS) The sixth edition of India Runway Week (IRW) will be held here from April 15-17, the Indian Federation for Fashion Development (IFFD) announced.
Celebrating the Summer/Spring collection 2016, the event will be held at Thyagaraj Sports Complex here and promises to bring a dose of freshness in design.
IRW is targeting individual and institutional buyers along with e-commerce websites for their presence here so that it gets business for participating designers," Kiran Kheva, fashion director, IFFD, said in a statement.
Avinash Pathania, founder, IFFD, added: IRW should be seen for what it ought to be: an educational trade event where buyers and media get to see the work of young designers. The whole idea is to get business and recognition for these young designers. Its not just another fashion week, its a runway week, a platform for fashion startups of India.
Across three days, fashionistas will be treated to a packed schedule featuring a line-up of some fresh designers in New Gen category -- Bohurupi by Abhishek Roy, D&N by Dheeru and Nikita, First Edit by Sonya and Monika, Kaleido by Priyanka Munot, Saachi Thahryamal, Scarlet by Shruti Jamaal, Safali Grover, The Pastels by Anjana Singh, Yashika Tejwani and Yugansthya by Satish Kumar, showing their creations.
IRW aims to change the focus from known to unknown, getting some of the countrys young talented designers to showcase less expensive designer wear.
