New Delhi, April 1 (IANS) The draft civil aviation policy is expected to come before the union cabinet for its approval this month, a senior government official said on Friday.
According to Civil Aviation Secretary R.N. Choubey, inter-ministerial consultations have been conducted over the policy and it will be presented to the union cabinet this month.
"We have already done a couple of rounds of inter-ministerial consultations. We will now be in a position to take the matter to the cabinet this month," Choubey told reporters on the sidelines of an event to mark the 29th anniversary of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
The government has even conducted several rounds of stakeholders' consultations over the policy which was unveiled last year.
The policy entails certain changes to the norms for overseas flying which has invited opposition from several quarters in the industry.
