Abu Dhabi, March 31 (IANS/WAM) The National Archives was gifted a large collection of books and periodicals on the culture, heritage and history of the United Aran Emirate (UAE) by the acting director-general of the National Media Council, Mansour Al Mansouri.
The list of books includes titles on UAE history, heritage, societal and cultural achievements, and other readings on media and communication.
The collection also includes a number of academic research letters, statistical reports, and photographs of state dignitaries.
A representative from the National Archives expressed appreciation for the specialised reference sources, saying the timely generous gesture comes as the UAE implements the initiative of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who declared 2016 a "Year of Reading".
