Bhubaneswar, March 31 (IANS) The Odisha government has projected an export target of Rs.38,714 crore by 2022-23 at an annual growth rate of 10 percent, the assembly was told on Thursday.
MSME Minister Jogendra Behera said in a written reply that the state government has set a target of achieving the figure between 2013-14 and 2022-23 in its exports.
He said that the state has earned Rs.14,578.54 crore from 2008-09 to 2012-13 while it has achieved Rs.19,551 crore from export of various products in 2014-15 - Rs.10,836.98 crore from metallurgical, Rs.3,383.49 crore from engineering and chemicals, Rs.636 crore from minerals, Rs. 2,069 crore from marine products and Rs.2,567.17 crore from electronics products.
In order to increase export from the state, Behera said the government has notified an export policy 2014 with several facilitations including setting up export parks and trade centres in the state. "Export parks will be set up for various export products so that all necessary infrastructure facilities and common facilities like warehousing, packaging, cold chain and other logistic supports are available to exporters at one place and regular monitoring will be easier to access export performance of the park," he said.
