Bollywood's highly talented director-producer Karan Johar is known for his ability to pick talents, scripts and also business acumen. Right now he has purchased the remake rights of Telugu film Oopiri, though he has the remake rights of Intouchables in hand. Any guesses why?
Karan Johar wanted to Indianise Intouchables from a long time, but he hasn't come up with any interesting ideas. Now that Nagarjuna and Vamsi Paidipally have carved out the film to suit Indian sensibilities, with some extended backstories, Karan feels that he should remake Oopiri rather remaking Intouchables.
