Gurgaon, March 31 (IANS) A senior executive in a private firm was driven nearly 500 metres on the bonnet of a car after he fell on it following an incident of road rage in Gurgaon, police said on Thursday.
Police have registered a case against unknown person three days after the incident after the victim provided CCTV footage of what happened.
Prateek, 35, a senior sales manager in an IT company, said he was driving on March 28 towards Sector 14 with his three-year-old son when a car driven by a man hit him from behind.
"The man agreed to compensate my loss. As we were going to a car mechanic, he suddenly sped away," Prateek said.
The accused hit two two-wheelers before stopping at a traffic signal.
"When I went near his car, he tried to crush me. Somehow I fell on the bonnet. He drove on, taking me nearly 500 meters before I fell off," Prateek told IANS.
Along the way, the car hit two more bikes.
Prateek said he gave a written complaint to police in Sector 14 but they did not take any action.
Later, he arranged the CCTV footage of the incident and gave it to police, who then registered a case.
"We will take strict action against the policemen who did not act on the first complaint," said Assistant Commissioner of Police Hawa Singh.
