Ruckus in Himachal assembly over revelations against CM

Shimla, March 30 (IANS) The Himachal Pradesh assembly on Wednesday again witnessed sloganeering, ruckus and adjournments, with the BJP demanding a debate on the fresh revelations over the Enforcement Directorate probing Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for money laundering.

As the house assembled in the morning, BJP member Rikhi Ram Kaundal inquired about the fate of notice given by him for adjournment motion to discuss developments relating to the Enforcement Directorate probe.

He said it was the most important issue pertaining to the state.

When Speaker B.B.L. Butail disallowed it, the BJP members created pandemonium. The speaker adjourned the house for 15 minutes.

When the session resumed, the BJP members again created ruckus.

The assembly saw sloganeering for the third day on Wednesday over discussions on the probe against Virbhadra Singh.

Party sources said the chief minister had called on Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi on Monday and briefed her about the alleged BJP efforts to destabilise his government.
