London, March 29 (IANS) Manchester United's defender Marcos Rojo has revealed he plans to return to his childhood football club, Argentina's Estudiantes once his contract with the English football giants ends in 2019.
"I miss the club, my family and my friends. I want to return to Estudiantes once I finish my contract in England," he said in an interview with Argentinian television TyCSports on Monday, reports Efe.
Rojo, 26, spent three years of his professional football career with the Argentine club, making 43 appearances and scoring three goals.
However, the defender insisted, according to newspaper Metro, that he wants to stay at United until the end of his contract in 2019, although coach Louis van Gaal was preparing to sell him in January when he suffered a dislocated shoulder in November.
The Argentine international joined United from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 and since returning from a three-month recovery, has started the last eight games, but his future at the English club remains uncertain.
