Bhubaneswar, March 28 (IANS) As many as 184 security personnel and 259 civilians were killed by Maoists in Odisha from 2005 till date, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik told the assembly on Monday.
As many as 152 Maoists were killed in police encounters during the period, said Patnaik.
Replying to a written question by Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Duryodhan Majhi, the chief minister said 919 Maoist-related violent incidents had occurred in the state since 2005.
He said the deceased securitymen included 36 from Andhra Police and nine from Chhattisgarh.
