La Paz, March 25 (IANS) An injury-time goal from Edwin Cardona saw Colombia snatch a 3-2 away win over Bolivia in the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign here.
Star-studded Colombia looked to have squandered a comfortable victory after Bolivia fought back from 0-2 down to level 2-2, heading into stoppage time on Thursday, reports Xinhua.
But just when the Bolivians were preparing to celebrate a well-earned point, midfielder Cardona stunned the home fans with a fine low shot.
The victory was Colombia's only second in five matches so far in South America's marathon qualifying competition for berths in the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.
Bolivia will travel to Argentina on March 30 for their sixth match in the qualifiers while Colombia will receive Ecuador in Barranquilla.
