Mumbai, March 24 (IANS) Actress Sandeepa Dhar, who has played subdued, girl-next-door characters so far, is now set to break that image with a no-nonsense character of a policewoman in her upcoming film "7 Hours To Go".
In the Saurabh Varma directorial, Sandeepa plays ACP Nandini Shukla, who is determined to solve a case and has only seven hours to solve it -- as the title suggests. The character's success or failure at the same, forms the core of the film's plot.
"I'm grateful to my director Saurabh Varma because he envisioned me in a role which is diametrically opposite of what I have portrayed on screen until now.
"Usually, people feel that I can only do those delicate, soft kind of roles, so thanks to Saurabh, who saw the quirk in me and gave me a role which has many dimensions."
Sandeepa has featured in films like "Isi Life Mein", "Dabangg 2" and "Heropanti".
"7 Hours To Go", an investigative thriller, is produced by Krian Pictures. It is releasing worldwide on May 13, and also stars Shiv Pandit, Natasa Stankovic and Varun Badola.
