Jammu, March 23 (IANS) Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra on Wednesday called PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and state BJP chief Sat Sharma for separate meetings with him on March 25 to discuss government formation in the state.

Vohra sent two separate communications to them to call on him at Raj Bhavan in Jammu on Friday, a Raj Bhavan official said.

Vohra's missives come barely two days after Mehbooba Mufti called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

The PDP has called a meeting of its legislators in Srinagar where Mehbooba Mufti will apprise them about the details of her meeting with Modi.

The PDP legislature party was also likely to elect its leader on Thursday who would be authorised to stake claim to form the new government in the state.

Jammu and Kashmir was placed under Governor's Rule on January 8, a day after then chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed passed away in New Delhi.
