"Soldiers of India and Pakistan exchanged sweets at Mendhar and Chakan-Da-Bagh on the LoC," defence spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta told IANS.
"The exchange of sweets on religious festivals and days of historical significance is part of the confidence-building measures between the two sides and shall go a long way in promoting harmony and bonhomie along the LoC," he said.
The day marks the passing of the Lahore Resolution of 1940 demanding a separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent.
