Debina and I enjoy dancing: Gurmeet Choudhary

Mumbai, March 23 (IANS) Actor Gurmeet Choudhary, who will be seen doing a cameo appearance in popular TV show “Diya Aur Baati Hum” along with his wife Debina Bonnerjee, says the duo love to dance together onscreen.

Gurmeet and Debina will perform in the show at an Holi event. The couple will be seen performing on the song "Aarambh prachand" from the film “Gulaal”.

“The show has been doing really well for quite some time now and it felt really nice to associate with a show that has viewers stuck to its gripping story line time and again,” Gurmeet said in a statement.

“Debina and I enjoy dancing and just the way entire premise of the track on the show was serious and thrilling, our performance and song was in complete tangent with it. All in all, we had a good time,” he added.

“Diya Aur Baati Hum” airs on Star Plus.

Madirakshi's 'light' avatar on TV show

Actress Madirakshi, who was usually seen donning elaborate costumes and jewellery in popular mythological show “Siya Ke Ram”, will next be seen in an all new avatar wherein she will flaunt “light weight costumes and minimal jewellery”.

As per the upcoming sequence of the show, Ram (Ashish Sharma) and Sita (Madirakshi) will go for exile along with Lakshman (Karan Suchak).

“We will so begin shooting for the journey that will mark the beginning of Sita and Ram’s love story in true sense, the 'Vanvaas' (exile). We all have been shooting in very beautiful and elaborate costumes all this while.

“The designer did a fabulous job but the weight of the costumes always made it very difficult to walk. I am glad that the 'Vanvaas' costumes are light and would not take much time for us to get ready,” Madirakshi said in a statement.

The makers are said to have done extensive research to get the perfect look for the actress and also what kind of jewellery that she should wear.

“Ever since the show began, it has taken three hours to get into my look as Sita and believe it or not, most of my costumes weigh as much as me,” she said.

“Especially the lehngas that I am wearing as Ayodhya’s newly wedded bride weighs approximately 25-30 kgs and the entire look put together with the hair and dupattas is equivalent to my weight. As much as I loved dressing up, I am really looking forward to the light weight costumes and minimal jewellery as it’ll also take me lesser time to get ready,” she added.

“Siya Ke Ram” is aired on Star Plus.

Actor Paras Babbar, who is seen playing the role of Sahir Modi in the TV show "Saath Nibhana Saathiya", accidentally injured his co-star Rashmi Singh while shooting for a Holi sequence.

According to the ongoing track on the show, Paras had to dance facing the camera and his onscreen wife Rashmi’s entry was from behind.

While performing for the dance sequence the actor’s elbow accidentally hit Rashmi’s nose and it started bleeding. Being responsible for her injury Paras rushed to give her immediate medical help.

“Since we were shooting for the Holi sequence, everybody was excited about giving their best shot. I went all out for the performance and didn’t realise she was standing behind me," Paras said in a statement.

The actor said he felt for what happened. Even though Rashmi was injured she did not stop shooting.

"As soon as her nose started to bleed I thought it was my responsibility to make sure she is alright. The strong girl that she is didn’t want the shoot to get disturbed and continued to shoot within half an hour,” he said.
