Jammu, March 19 (IANS) A woman and her daughter were washed away by the swollen waters of the Tawi river in Jammu city on Saturday, police said.
"A mother and her son and daughter were trapped in the swollen waters of the Tawi river in Jammu city. A brave youth swam to them risking his life and managed to save the son while the woman and her daughter were washed away," a police official said.
He said efforts were on to locate the duo, but there was little hope of their survival.
Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessing incessant rains for the last three days. Met officials said the weather would start improving Sunday onwards.
