London, March 19 (IANS) British singer Adele has announced that she will headline the Glastonbury Festival this year.
The "Hello" singer made the announcement while playing a show at the O2 Arena here on Friday night, telling the crowd in attendance that she is going to headline the festival on June 25, reports aceshowbiz.com.
"Who's going to Glastonbury this year," Adele asked the audience.
"See you there. I'll be there. I'll be headlining on the Saturday night this year."
She went on to reveal that she was wanted to headline the fest last year, but her "record wasn't ready" at the time.
She also shared a message to anyone who might criticise the organiser's choice to book her.
"And to the people who say I am too boring to headline, you're more f**king boring for moaning about me headlining," she added.
Glastonbury later confirmed Adele's upcoming appearance in a Twitter post.
"As Adele just announced live on stage in London, she will headline Saturday night at this year's Glastonbury Festival," they wrote.
This year's Glastonbury is scheduled to take place in Pilton, England, from June 22-26. The full line-up hasn't been unveiled yet, but it has been confirmed that Muse and Coldplay will perform on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
