New Delhi, March 17 (IANS) JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar could not meet Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday but spoke to him on telephone, CPI leader D. Raja said.
Raja, however, met Kejriwal at the Delhi Secretariat with his daughter and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student activist Aparajitha.
"He (Kanhaiya) could not reach here due to traffic jam. He had a telephonic conversation with the chief minister, and both have decided to meet probably on Saturday," Raja told reporters after meeting Kejriwal.
Raja added that Aparajitha had not come to meet Kejriwal as his daughter but as a student leader in support of Kanhaiya Kumar, who is on bail after being in jail on sedition charges.
Both Kanhaiya Kumar and Aparajitha are members of the CPI-affiliated All India Students Federation (AISF).
Asked if the CPI had any larger political plans for Kanhaiya Kumar, Raja replied: "Plans? We have no plans."
