New Delhi, March 17 (IANS) The Congress on Thursday slammed the budget, saying the government gave "casual treatment" to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill.
"With regard to the GST, which was the brainchild of the UPA government, in the budget they have given casual treatment. They do not find any strategy or a roadmap for implementation of GST. This is how they perform," Congress leader Veerappa Moily told mediapersons.
He also spoke about the productiveness in the budget session.
"It was 129 percent in the Rajya Sabha, and as far as the Lok Sabha was concerned, it was 120 percent. This demonstrates the productiveness of parliament -- both in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. This is quite unprecedented when compared to the performance of the opposition led by the BJP or NDA during the UPA-II regime," said Moily.
"This is the best performance as far as the Opposition is concerned. All that false charges on the Opposition, particularly malicious charges made on the Congress party that we are not cooperating and we are confronting everything falls on the ground," he added.
