Ankara, March 17 (IANS) Germany on Thursday closed its consulate general and a high school in Istanbul following security threats.
The privately run German High School will be closed on Thursday, for a day, the school said in a statement. Both the consulate and the school are located around Taksim Square, Xinhua news agency reported.
Turkey has remained on high alert following a suicide car bomb attack in Ankara on Sunday which killed 37 people. In January, 12 German tourists were killed in a suicide attack in Istanbul.
