Madrid, March 15 (IANS) Portuguese football club Benfica's Brazilian striker Jonas Goncalves leads the race for the highest goal scorer with two strikes against Tondela in the Primeira Liga match.
Goncalves has so far scored 28 goals to collect 56 points. He is closely followed by Real Madrid's Portuguese striker and Spanish La Liga top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentinian Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, both with 27 goals and 54 points, reports Efe.
FC Barcelona's Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez is ranked fourth with 26 goals and 52 points, followed in fifth place by Bayern Munich striker and Bundesliga top scorer Robert Lewandowski with 24 goals and 48 points.
Barcelona striker Lionel Messi and Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang share the sixth place, both with 22 goals.
