Ranchi, March 14 (IANS) There are no plans to hike the job quota limits in Jharkhand from the exiting 50 percent, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said on Monday.

Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajantantrik legislator Pradeep Yadav made the demand in the assembly for a hike in the reservation quota.

"The government should hike the reservation from existing 50 percent to 73 percent," Yadav said.

In response, Das told the house: "The government came out with 73 percent reservation quota in 2001 but it was stayed by the Jharkhand High Court. There is no plan (at present) to increase the reservation quota."

At present, the STs, SCs and OBCs in Jharkhand get 26, 10 and 14 percent reservation respectively.

To another question, the chief minister said the government will hold an all-party meeting and invite suggestions regarding holding of three-tier panchayat polls on party lines in the state.
