Milan, March 14 (IANS) Inter's Argentinian striker Mauro Icardi underwent an MRI scan on Monday that revealed a sprained ligament of the knee, according to the football club, and will be out for nearly a month.
Icardi had to leave the field in the last match against Bologna after being injured, and will miss, among others, the key match against Roma next Saturday, reports Efe.
The Argentinian, who is Inter's top scorer with 11 goals, will undergo further tests in the coming days to establish the exact period of absence.
This is bad news for Inter, who will face Roma on Saturday in a direct clash for third place in Serie A without Icardi.
The 23-year-old will also miss the duels against Torino (April 3) and Frosinone (April 10).
His likely return to the field, according to Italian media, will be on April 17 when the Blacks and Blues will face Napoli at San Siro.
