New Delhi, March 14 (IANS) India's annual retail inflation fell to 5.18 percent in February from 5.69 percent for the month before, thanks to a significant drop in food prices, official data showed on Monday.
As per figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO), the annual food inflation, based on the consumer price index (CPI), stood at 5.30 percent for February, as against 6.85 percent in the month before.
In the like month of the previous fiscal, the overall annual inflation was 5.37 percent, while the 12-month food inflation was 6.88 percent.
