Beijing, March 14 (IANS) China's tallest skyscraper, the Shanghai Tower, is expected to be open for business soon, the media reported on Monday.
The 632-metre tall tower is second to Dubai's Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building (829.8 metres), the People's Daily reported.
A high-speed elevator has been installed to take visitors to a viewing platform on the 119th floor in just 55 seconds.
At its maximum speed, the lift would travel at 18 metres a second.
The 126-storey building will become a new landmark in Lujiazui, the financial and trade zone in Shanghai.
