Well, earlier it was felt that if a Tamil hit is remade into Telugu, then it will become a smashing hit. Producers used to count how much money they would amass in such a lesser time. Gone are those days however.
Last year we have seen superhit low budget Tamil film Soodhu Kavvum remade in Telugu as Geddam Gang, but that film failed miserably. Later Sundarapandian is made as Speedunnodu and that too failed. Nara Rohit's recent below average film Tuntari is also a remake of Tamil hit only. It's based on Maan Karate movie. Unfortunately, a curse played on these remakes is that they will not even become average grossers at the box office.
Next remakes to come are Sandeep Kishans Run a remake of Neram, Nagachityana's Premam and Megastar Chiranjeevi's 150th film a remake of Kaththi movie. Lets see how they will fare.
