Los Angeles, Mar 13 (PTI) Veteran actress Ellen Burstyn is working on her directorial debut.
The "Requiem for a Dream" star has previously worked behind the scenes as an executive producer for her 2001 TV movie "Within These Walls", but now she wants to take charge of a film project herself, reported Hollywood.com.
Ellen, 83, reveals she has already started the development process, but finding funding for the film has already proven to be a tough task.
"I have a script called Bathing Slow that I just love and I wanna act in it and direct, so that's a new challenge I'm looking forward to," she said on US breakfast show "Today".
"We're in the process of raising money, which is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life!"
Ellen is currently enjoying positive reviews of her new role in the fourth season of political drama "House of Cards", in which she portrays Elizabeth Hale, the mother of Robin Wright's calculated character, First Lady Claire Underwood.
Robin directed a number of her episodes with Ellen, and the the actress says she was watching closely to pick up a few tips for her own filmmaking plans.
