A part of me thought life would be normal after Oscars: Lupita

Los Angeles, Feb 13 (PTI) Hollywood star Lupita Nyong'o, who won the best supporting actress Oscar for her role in "12 Years A Slave", says a part of her thought that things would go back to normal after winning the award.

The 33-year-old star had no idea what she was going to do next after winning the trophy.

"Right after the Oscars, I had no idea what I was going to do next. Zero clue. There's a part of me that thought my life would go back to normal. Like at school. But it didn't. I did not get out of that unscathed, you know?," she told InStyle magazine in an interview.

The actress, who appears on the cover of the magazine for its April issue, says she was also worried about the Oscar curse as it is believed that best supporting actresses don't forge a great career after winning the award.

"They go on to appear in bomb after bomb after bomb," she said.

Nyong'o will next appear in Jon Favreau's live-action "The Jungle Book" and Indian-American director Mira Nair's "Queen of Katwe".
