New Delhi, March 11 (IANS) The Delhi High Court on Friday issued notice to Delhi Police on a plea filed by father of a six year-old Ryan International School student, found dead in a septic tank, alleging that officials probing the case are in connivance with the school management and officials.
Justice Siddharth Mridul asked deputy commissioner of police (south) to remain present before the court in person as it sought a response on the plea by March 18.
The plea asked the court order the incorporation of section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code in the FIR and may also hand over the investigation to an independent body like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The plea filed by Devansh Kakrora's father Ramhet Meena through advocate Aditya Aggarwal said that an FIR was registered under section 304A (causing death by negligence) instead of section 302.
After Devansh was found dead in the school in Vasant Kunj area in south Delhi on January 30, police had arrested principal Sandhya Sabu (50), class teacher Minakshi Kapoor (38), reverse osmosis plant operator Yogesh Kholiya (23), maintenance incharge Puran Singh Bisht (65) and gardener Ram Narayan (44) on charges of causing death due to negligence.
