Lahore, March 11 (IANS) Pakistani designers, including Sana Safinaz, Muse and Maria B., set a high glamour quotient at the the ninth edition of the Pakistan Fashion and Design Council (PFDC) pret-a-porter week.
Hosted by producer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY), the four-day 'Sunsilk Fashion Week 2016' began here late Thursday.
The stage was set on fire by designer Sana Safinaz's inaugural show 'Sugar Rush' collection. The ensemble was dominated by floral prints on white sheer lace dresses.
The front row was dazzled by PFDC Chairman Sehyr Saigol, singer Meesha Shafi and designers including Nickie and Nina.
Another designer Sara Shahid's show 'Sublime by Sara', where models draped free fall pieces in colours like sea green, sky blue and peach, received huge applause from the audience.
Designer Feeha Jamshed's 'Bob Squad' collection encapsulated the old school girl with individualistic prints, sharp and bold cuts showcasing 16 models in various designs of jumpsuits, palazzo pants and monochrome dresses.
Jamsheed said that for her collection she was inspired by the psychedelic culture of the late 60s and early 70s.
In the final and the glitteriest show by Maria B., actress Maya Ali, the showstopper, dazzled in a black gown with silver print.
Maria B.'s collection 'Moonlit Sahara', dominated by the light shades of grey, blue and beige, was applauded the most.
For her collection, Maria had drawn inspiration from sandstone grey to vintage Russian jewellery.
Faryal Aftab and her partner Moeed Yousuf of Muse presented a beautiful collection titled 'Last Night' and showcased dresses in sharp cuts and block prints in glitter.
