London, March 10 (IANS) A day after heavy rains and consequent disruption, dozens of flood warnings remained in place in central England on Thursday.
The worst-affected areas were in the Midlands where roads were flooded, rail passengers were stranded and many schools remained closed, BBC reported.
About 50 Environment Agency flood warnings -- meaning "immediate action required" -- were currently in place.
More than 160 lower-level flood alerts have been issued across much of England and parts of Wales.
