Reject ‘unholy nexus’ of Congress-CPI-M: Mamata

Kolkata, March 9 (IANS) Ridiculing the Congress and the CPI-M for forging an electoral understanding, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday wondered if their own party people would accept such a "selfish" and "unprincipled" tie-up.

"After playing hide and seek all these years, the Congress and CPI-M have now openly declared their tie-up. But I want to ask their party people, those at the grassroots, can you support such an unholy, selfish and unprincipled alliance," asked Banerjee, also the Trinamool Congress supremo, at English Bazar of Malda district.

Addressing her first public rally for the assembly polls, she repeatedly attacked the Congress -Left tie-up and urged voters to bring het Trinamool back to power.

"How can the Congress go into an alliance with a party which killed thousands of their own party workers? How can the leaders of this 'unholy nexus' face the people and ask for votes," she asked.
