The 40-year-old, who split from Thicke last year after ten years of marriage, said she is learning to love again after being hurt "more than a couple of times".
"You need to know that it's worth it. At the end of the day, having a partner in crime for life is so amazing and special when it's real and genuine, that it's worth taking the risk, femalefirst.co.uk quoted Patton as saying.
"And you are going to get hurt, trust me, I know! I've been hurt a couple times - maybe more than a couple times. But you gotta pick yourself back up, and give it another chance. I know I'm going to, she added.
Patton insisted that she is not overly fussy when it comes to who she will date next but there is one thing she won't stand for - a man who pouts.
Speaking in a video posted to her Facebook page, she added: "If you pout you're out. I'm not dealing with a pouty man... I'm not doing that anymore."
