Los Angeles, March 8 (IANS) Singer-actress Zendaya is all set to join Tom Holland in the "Spider-Man" reboot.
Her character details are not out yet, but it is being reported that she has not been signed to play the love interest. It has emerged that Zendaya was one of a handful of actresses who had been testing with Holland for the past couple of weeks, a source told variety.com.
"The character is neither Peter Parkers love interest nor a lead role. She will, however, play a bigger part in future installments, the source said.
Sony Pictures Entertainment has teamed with Marvel Studios to produce the sixth movie in its franchise. Jon Watts is directing the currently untitled Spider-Man film, which focuses on a teenage Parkers high school days.
The film's plot details are still being heavily guarded, and production is expected to start this summer.
Hollands Spider-Man will first make an appearance in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War.
