Swara Bhaskar's ode to womanhood in 'Nil Battey Sannata' posterMumbai, March 8 (IANS) As people across the globe celebrate the spirit of womanhood on the International Women's Day, the first look of actress Swara Bhaskar's upcoming film "Nil Battey Sannata" pays an honest tribute to the ladies.

Swara plays a 15-year-old's mother in the film, which is directed by "Dangal" director Nitesh Tiwari's wife Ashwini Iyer Tiwari.

In the poster of the film, an elated, red sari-clad Swara is seen taking a leap with Ria, the child artiste, who dons a blue and white salvar-kameez.

 

Interestingly, the poster was officially unveiled by actress Sonam Kapoor, who is garnering applause for her film "Neerja".

"From Neerja to Chanda, this Women's Day, it's all about girl power," Sonam wrote on Twitter on Tuesday along with a poster of "Nil Battey Sannata".

Swara tweeted: "This Women's Day watch two mad girls give more power to women by telling their stories. Sonam Kapoor launches my poster."

The film is being presented by Anand L. Rai, who brought Swara into the spotlight with his film "Tanu Weds Manu". He went on to cast her in all his next films like "Raanjhanaa" and "Tanu Weds Manu Returns".

For "Nil Battey Sannata", Swara has even received the Best Actress award at the Silk Road Film Festival in China.

Swara will also be seen in "Anarkali Aarawali". About her role in the film, she said: "It is the story of an orchestra party singer who sings numerous double meaning songs in villages and other small areas of Bihar. It is about an incident which turns her life upside down."
