Mumbai, March 9 (IANS) Music composer and singer Salim Merchant has termed his acting debut in Yash Raj Films' mini-series 'Love Shots' as "different from his music" and admitted that he got to learn a lot from it.
"The cinema industry is like an ocean and music is its part. I was always intrigued by acting but I never thought I will act... I just came across this script, I liked it, I learnt a lot and it is very different from my music," Salim Merchant said at the premiere of "Love Shots".
"Love Shots" is a series of six short films based on love and features actors like Saqib Saleem, Farida Jalal, Swanand Kirkire and Kulbhushan Kharbanda among others.
"Monsoon Wedding" actress Tillotama Shome is paired opposite Salim in this film.
On the experience of working with her, Salim said: "I'd say I got to learn a lot and it is my good fortune that I got to work with such a good actor. I learnt a lot from her. Her timing and her experience were incredible."
The first film, "The Road Trip" starring Nimrat Kaur and Tahir Raj Bhasin, has been unveiled on digital platforms.
