Ankara, March 7 (IANS) At least 26 militants of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were killed in southeast Turkey, according to the local reports on Monday.
An operation by the Turkish security forces led to the clashes in the Idil district of Sirnak Province, killing 16 PKK militants, Dogan News Agency reported.
Another 10 PKK terrorists were killed on Sunday, with six killed in Sirnak's Idil district and four in Diyarbakir's Sur district, Turkish General Staff said on Monday.
Turkey's southeast areas have been a major scene of military operations since last December. The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the EU.
