Los Angeles, Mar 5 (PTI) Filmmaker Bennett Miller and "Shakespeare in Love" screenwriter Tom Stoppard are working on a new adaptation of the Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol".
The classic has been adapted several times on screens big and small, as well as for the stage. The most recent film on the novella was 2009's animated movie, directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Jim Carrey using performance capture, reported Entertainment Weekly.
Set in 1843, the tale follows the ill-tempered Ebenezer Scrooge as he finds redemption on Christmas Eve through his encounters with the ghosts of the holiday's past, present, and future.
The project is being developed for Annapurna Pictures, with Megan Ellison, Scott Rudin, and Jennifer Fox serving as producers alongside Miller.
