Lok Sabha adopts motion of thanks on President’s Address

New Delhi, March 3 (IANS) The Lok Sabha on Thursday adopted by a voice vote the motion of thanks on the President's Address to parliament after a reply to the debate by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The amendments moved by opposition members were rejected before Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan read out the motion that was adopted.

"That the members of the Lok Sabha assembled in this session are deeply grateful to the President for the Address which he has been pleased to deliver to both houses of parliament assembled on February 23," she said.

President Pranab Mukherjee addressed the joint sitting of the two houses on February 23, marking the traditional beginning of the budget session.
