Mumbai, March 1 (IANS) Automobile major Tata Motors on Tuesday reported a growth of six percent in its total sales of passenger and commercial vehicles, including exports.
The company's total sales stood at 46,674 units over 44,233 units sold in February, 2015.
The domestic sale of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles during the month under review stood at 41,532 units, higher by three percent, over 40,322 vehicles sold in February 2015.
However, the company's passenger vehicles' sales declined by 20 percent, at 10,962 units, as compared to 13,767 units in the like month in 2015.
Further, the automobile major reported sales growth in the medium and heavy commercial vehicle (MHCV) segment. The sub-segment's sales stood higher by 22 percent to 14,872 units during February 2016.
Similarly, sales of light and small commercial vehicle (LCV) rose by 10 percent to 15,698 units.
The overall commercial vehicles sales for the month under review increased by 15 percent to 30,570 units, as compared to 26,555 units during the like month of 2015.
"This (overall commercial vehicles sales) significant increase, has been enabled by the growth in LCVs, supplementing the already prevailing MHCV growth," the company said in a statement.
The automobile major's exports were higher by 31 percent to 5,142 units from 3,911 vehicles shipped-out during the corresponding month of 2015.
