Lucknow, March 2 (IANS) Work on the third terminal (T3) at the Chaudhary Charan Singh airport in Lucknow will begin soon, an official said on Wednesday.
The procedure of tendering has been set for the Rs.878.25 crore terminal which will be constructed with a "vision and needs for the next 20 years", the official informed.
The terminal will have aerobridges, escalators, lifts, integrated entry and exit systems, security access system and 24x7 network of CCTV cameras.
The designing will be such that the airport is lit up with natural light more and will have a large nuber of baggage handlings systems, laser scanners for luggage, tourist visa counters, duty free shops, premium lounge and shops as well as eateries.
S.C. Hota, director of the Amausi airport, said a pre-bid meeting took place on February 19, e-tendering will take place on March 8 and the pre-qualification bids will open on March 14.
The city airport's Terminal 2 (T2) had opened for passengers in 2012. But owing to increasing passenger pressure on T2, it was decided to construct a new terminal.
The construction is estimated to take about 57 months while survey, designing and approval survey, Project Investment Board clearance are likely to take another nine months.
