New Delhi, Feb 29 (IANS) Budget airline IndiGo on Monday said Airbus has confirmed to deliver 24 A320 Neo aircraft to the airline starting from March 2016 to March 2017.
"The new A320 Neo powered by Pratt and Whitney's fuel efficient geared turbo fan engines will enable us to structurally reduce our costs as fuel continues to be the single largest element of our cost structure," said IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh in a statement.
The development marks IndiGo's next phase of growth and its aim to make air travel more accessible to Indians, he said.
However, the total number of planes fell to 24 from the originally planned 26, the statement added.
