Guess who has given some genuine profits to all the distributors involved in the films that have got some superior ratings from most critics of Telugu industry.
They said Nenu Sailaja is superb love story. Nannaku Prematho is a rousing hit. Dictator is a stupendous mass film. Express Raja is a comedy blockbuster. Soggade Chinni Nayana is a well-made family film. Killing Veerappan is RGVs strong comeback film. Then Krishnagaadi Veera Prema Gaadha is terrific romantic comedy. Kalavathi (Aranmai 2) is a mind blowing horror film. And the story of ratings and reviews continues. But who among them is the real winner.
Except Soggade Chinni Nayana which brought nearly 20 crores profit for the makers, all other films just recovered their budget. If Nannaku Prematho made 50+ crores collection, then we should not forget the fact that it is made with 54 crores budget. Recovering investment is not a successful film business, but getting profits is what could be termed as a success. Films like Express Raja, KVPG, and even Killing Veerappan havent recovered the investment despite being called by critics as super hits. Express Hit, Veera Hit, Horror Hit just remained on paper, while the pockets of distributors have literally suffered 15-20% losses.
Its really a saddening thing that only one film has survived criticism and made profits for producer. Especially when production costs are being shot up showing a previous hit, and making of film is getting costlier due to inefficiency of producers in planning, inefficiency of directors in churning out more scenes in less time on sets and lack of theatres to run films for a long time, is hugely affecting future of Telugu industry. Hope the bigwigs and fans are reading this.
