House of RJD legislator accused of minor's rape attachedPatna, Feb 28 (IANS) The house of Rajballabh Yadav, a Rashtriya Janta Dal legislator absconding after he was booked for allegedly raping a minor, was attached on Sunday, police said.

The police move to attach Yadav's house at his native village English Pathra in Nawada district came a day after a Nalanda district court's order in this regard.

"Police teams from Nawada and neighbouring Nalanda carried out the attachment of his property," a district police official said.

Yadav has been absconding since February 9 though four of his alleged accomplices have been arrested.

A large number of police personnel, including from the Central Reserve Police Force and Rapid Action Force, were deployed in the village and near the RJD leader's house due to apprehension of trouble by his supporters during the attachment process.

Earlier, the district court had rejected Yadav's anticipatory bail plea.

Police have been raiding different places to arrest Rajballabh Yadav, who absconded after the issuance of arrest warrants against him following registration of a case against him on the complaint of the girl hailing from Nalanda district.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday, during a reply on law and order in the state assembly, said: "How long can he abscond? How long? He cannot escape. He will be brought to justice."

The RJD last week suspended Rajballabh Yadav, who is a legislator from Nawada constituency.

According to the police complaint, a woman named Sulekha Devi took the girl to an undisclosed location in Nalanda on February 6 and forced her to drink liquor. She was then raped by a man, later identified as Yadav. After she was raped, the girl said, the woman gave her Rs.30,000.
